Scan Results

Will write more later but here is a quick update. Kevins brain MRI came back clear, praise God. His other scans showed some increased growth on his face and the spot on his liver disappeared but a new spot appeared, so I guess that means its worse. Either way he will not be continuing IL-2 treatment. We will meet with doctors Monday to discuss the next step.

We are numb and don’t really know how we feel. Please keep us in prayer for now.

Love,
Rachel and Kevin

  1. Rachel & Kevin-
I’m walking thought this with my mom, and when I think and pray for her my thoughts often turn to your family. You are in my prayers and most importantly Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding too.
I’m so sorry for this setback.

  2. It is perfectly alright if you don’t know how to feel right now. it’s fine if you get angry and even down. This is terrifying and this illness has been changing your everyday lives for over a year now. Have your moment and then get back to fighting. What i love is Kevin isn’t going through this alone, Rachel you are there with him every step of the way. Rachel, although you may feel very alone, God has blessed you with an amazing support system. Kevin IS NOT going anywhere today and we have no clue what God has up His sleeves! As you two sort through your feelings, continue pressing forward relying on God and leaning on His strength. So MANY are interceding on your behalf, people you don’t even know – so God is well aware of how you and Kevin are loved and how you have impacted the lives of others. You two are so very special to Him, He is with you ALWAYS. I am so proud of the two of you, the decisions you’ve made, the faith your relying and standing on. You continue doing what you can and let God do what you can’t! He is in the business of saving lives :)! – Praying Continuously for You All – Tahira & Family

    • Oh Tahira, thank you so much for all of your encouragement. And please send me the video Kevin said you showed him of your kids praying for him. That made me cry just to think of it!

  3. Thank you so very much for the up-date Rachel. Not great news but it sounds
as though it could be worse. My prayers are with you daily. Payer for Monday’s
meeting – must be another solution in there somewhere!
    Love, Irene

  4. Rachel,
It’s funny that we were suppose to meet almost 9 months ago (NYE) but because I decided to be fashionably late, I missed that opportunity. Through your blogs and status updates on facebook, I have been able to get to know you. I have silently been walking along with your family (just like the others that know you) as you go bravely through these experiences. Your faith, strength and love for each other will get you through these difficult times. I will continue to pray for you both, and hope that one day I will finally get the opportunity to meet face-to-face. Just take a deep breath and remember that the battle remains. Please let me know if there is anything I can do that is helpful.
    Kate

    • Thanks Kate! Are you guys in the neighborhood now? Or do you live somewhere else at the moment? If you are around, please do come by and visit anytime!

  5. I’ve been thinking about you both a lot lately and have been waiting for you updates. We’ll keep praying Kevin & you. We love you!
